Synergy Construction Group partnered with Impact Behavioral Health and WJW Architects to deliver an 18,000-square-foot, 16-unit permanent supportive housing development in downtown Skokie. Funded through the IHDA Trust Fund and Cook County HOME funds, the project supports the creation of high-quality, affordable housing for individuals living with behavioral health conditions or other disabilities who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

The project included the full demolition of an existing structure and the ground‑up construction of a three-story, mixed-use building. Upper floors house 16 residential apartment units, while the ground level accommodates commercial space and shared community areas designed to support resident services and daily activities.

Synergy Construction Group managed all phases of construction, coordinating closely with project partners to deliver a durable, efficient, and thoughtfully constructed facility. Residential units and common areas incorporate trauma-informed and universal design principles, ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and resident comfort. Abundant natural light, biophilic elements, and carefully planned circulation enhance both functionality and occupant well-being.

This project reflects Synergy Construction Group’s commitment to delivering complex community-focused developments with precision, collaboration, and a focus on long-term value.
