James (Jim) R. Mika

President

FEDscopeAs president and founder of Fedscope, Jim leads all sales and market activities aimed at securing federal contracts set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and HUB Zone businesses.

Upon being honorably discharged from his service with the US Air Force in 1964, Jim returned home to his wife and children, and began his professional career with LTV Steel. Jim rose rapidly through the ranks of foreman, and was eventually promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Transportation and Labor. As superintendent, Jim was responsible for the management and daily operations of a 800 person division. He served as the inter-organizational representative to all labor unions, Governmental agencies, outside contractors, and even taught organizational dynamics seminars to upper level management personnel.

Jim then worked for Walsh Construction during the building of Bethlehem Steel in Portage, Indiana.  In addition to functioning as payroll and heavy equipment manager, Jim also held the position project manager for Walsh on facility projects, working with executive level personnel to facilitate construction and minimize production disruption.

Jim then graduated from the Steel Industry, and applied his knowledge to entrepreneurial pursuits, which included the start-up and growth of RMH, a rubber reclamation company. With Jim at the helm, RMH grew into the largest operation of its kind in the entire Midwestern United States. RMH’s client base included Ward’s, K-Mart, Tires R Us, Bandag, and Farm & Fleet.

Jim’s professional accomplishments are rivaled only by his commitment to his community. He has been actively involved in youth athletics his entire life, functioning as the president of a 760 person Little League organization. His reputation as a high school football and baseball coach precedes him, as he dedicated 13 years of his life as a mentor and athletic coach.

Jim is currently working to establish an “Elite-SDVOSB” chapter in Iowa, where he resides, and is in the planning stages of a community based program to champion the assimilation of Service Disabled Veterans back into mainstream society.
